Rare Disease KAM role – London & South East of England (London, Herts, Essex, Bucks, Surrey, Sussex & Kent) – covering up to 12 Tertiary Centres.
Job Purpose:
To sell rare disease range of products to UK healthcare professionals in line with the ABPI Code of Practice. To develop and manage business within the defined territory using a range of suitable tools and skills
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Manage and develop the defined sales territory and ensure that sales targets are met
o Strong ability to effectively account plan, using Key Account Management principles
o Ability to use data to prioritise key opportunities and threats
o Management of territory budget to optimise ROI
o Strong working knowledge of NHS structure and processes
• Identify key sales opportunities, in line with defined product / therapy strategies
o Strong collaboration with Marketing Lead and wider cross functional team
o Capturing and sharing of actionable insights
o Plan, manage and execution of local account / territory initiatives (inc. promotional meetings)
o Demonstrable In Call Quality Effectiveness
• Identify and develop key business relationships within the territory, including key opinion leaders to positively influence use of key brands nationally and internationally
o Demonstrable ability to develop and drive advocacy though the Brand Adoption Ladder
o Ability to mobilise advocacy at local, regional and national levels
o Collaborative approach to developing KOL’s / customers, working closely with MSL and Marketing colleagues
• Gain formulary inclusions, help shape and develop clinical protocols
• Maintain a thorough knowledge of the therapy area, brand and competitor activity
o Proactive sharing with cross functional team
• Demonstrate a high level of teamwork and best practice sharing
Qualifications:
• Significant speciality secondary care sales experience (≥ 3 years), preferably in haematology, immunology or a rare disease area
• Strong analytical, influencing, networking, negotiating, presentation, communication and interpersonal skills
• Critical reasoning skills, capable of interpreting and subsequently using available data sources to enhance the effectiveness of territory planning and developing robust account plans
• High level of commercial acumen
• Self-starter with the ability to work within a small UK-based team
• Team orientation
• Degree level (or equivalent) qualification in science, pharmacy, medicine or nursing
• ABPI accreditation
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and Powerpoint
• Full driving licence
